Forum Currently Undergoing Skinning Process

I'm not totally done with the theme, but it's complete enough to implement while I fill the blanks over the course of the week. =P

So while I'm doing this, the boards may look strange; i.e, wet floor, watch your step! Clashing icons is normal and doesn't effect the usability of these boards, but things will visually clear up once I'm done! Thank you for your patience!

EDIT : Okay, I'm getting somewhere with the color scheme, but getting these animated buttons to cooperate in the CSS is getting on my nerves, ARGH!!! But I refuse to give up, so I'll keep trying.

CHILD OF EDIT : Alright! The forum skin is pretty much done outside the issue mentioned above, so once that's taken care of, I'll declare us officially skinned. ^_^

Well, gotta agree with Maetch that the background is a little hard.
Hope you can figure out something for this soon.

You mean like the gradient in the banner's header, or the choice of blues? I will think harder about the color choices though, because I'm sure the orange headers and blue backgrounds are clashing pretty badly. Would a nice black or lavenderish purple gradient be better? Or maybe an overall purple theme to go with the header? Purple and Orange can play nice, if done right. =P

Heh, I'm liking the first one myself. Purple compliments orange better than blue. ^^ I think I'll take a crack at a purple scheme and see if everyone likes that. :D

Also, I got distracted a while ago and added an anouncements reel below the banner! Hope you guys like. ^^

I'm going crazy with all these options. XD

EDIT : Just tried it, I'm in love with dat purple! ^w^ What about you guys? Needs be a tad bit lighter or darker?

Well, it's better.
Tho it would be great, if you would add some more background to it.
In the example-image, this skin had some music-notes and stuff as background.
Something like that, only with Shantae-related stuff.


Also: In the top-box, you might want to adjust the text color.
Since the white text becomes hard to read, as the box transitions from red to yellow.

Heh, I've been thinking about what to do with the white text myself; would a dark purple text color work? I'll try it out to see how it looks.

And that would be a great idea worth exploring! I'll see if we can add background images while I play around with the portal. =P The musical notes come from my desktop background, by the way! (Since I have compositing enabled on XFCE, you could see it through the web browser window. It's a redesign of Hatsune Miku I found on dA : http://fav.me/d3nukzf Hope you don't mind if I plug it here, it's epic. XD) I'm glad it gave you an interesting idea though; simple silhoettes of Shantae and friends would be interesting. ^^

EDIT : The background is a can-do! Just gotta come up with something nice first. ^^ As for the portal, meh, that'll just add to confusion for new users and change the forum link itself to https://tsfp.forumotion.org/forums/ , unless we come up with a really good use for it outside of showcasing forum statistics and recent topics.

Looks like you're off to a good start.
One minor suggestion at this time: maybe make the jewel glow that signifies a new post more noticeable?

A good start? I just finished skinning the whole place. XD (We still need to make a background for the forum index and smileys, though, but everything else is pretty much covered, so yeah, not totally done yet! The hovering icons aren't fully implemented in CSS either. :#)

As for the gems, I needed to re-upload those at a slower speed anyway, so that's a good idea. ^^ I'll try giving them more radiance to see if that helps.
