FAQ : So you want to become a part of the staff?
So, you think you got what it takes to be a member of the staff? Well, here's what you need to know if you plan on volunteering!
1 . Usually, you don't ask us to be a moderator or administrator, we will be the one to ask you instead.
Staff positions are almost always closed until the community hits a growth spurt, so don't worry about whether we have enough people to keep the poop deck clean! If we need you, we'll let you know, or announce that positions are open to requests.
2 . It helps if you've had a considerable amount of previous experience as a forum administrator, or moderator.
While not required, it would definitely help leverage the odds in your favor. A fairly weathered oldbie who knows how things are done may fit the bill as well.
3 . Most of the time, we may approach you privately about a staff position. There's no pressure if you can't accept it.
Usually, the staff will personally hands out requests for more moderators or administrators. If you're picked, there's a good chance we trust you to pieces and want to reward you for your time invested in this community! Of course, if your busy schedule doesn't allow for the extra responsibility, or feel you're not responsible enough for the position, we won't be upset if you say no! We understand that our users have lives of their own to lead, and sometimes it's too booked for things like this, and that's okay.
That should cover it for this FAQ! See you around, future mods and admins.
