Official Shantae Fans Portal Twitter Account is Live!

Yes, that's right! Paragon and I have been talking about it for some time, but I just now got around to it. It's shamefully easier to do than I figured, so now I'm kicking myself for not doing this sooner! ;_;

The Twitter page can be found here for those who'd like to follow us! It'd be a great way to keep up with news about the boards, no? We might also post other tweets besides news, so any feedback is appreciated. ^^

Looking good so far.
Background looks a little messy. But other than that, VERY GOOD!

I am sure this account will come in handy, before long.

I'm actually refitting the current banner's project file right now to fix that messy background setup. Thankfully the image is huge so that shouldn't be too hard. =P

Anyway, I'm glad we already have a few followers; I'll make sure I put it to good use for everyone's sakes! :D

I suggest making an introductory tweet or something, just so you look active.

Ah, I figured since three people were already following, posting a message just to say the account was active would be spam. =P Makes me forget about everyone one else who might see it! So I posted a tweet to say the account is active, and something else too. Check your Gwibber or whatever else you use to keep up with Tweets!

I also tried fixing the banner, but there's no way it can be tiled, so I just stretched it to fit most laptop screens until I can make a set of Shantae-themed tiles for the background; should be fun. =P

I think you might want to tweet more.
One or two tweets per day do suffice to show that you're active.
And people only want to follow twitter-users that are active.
At least that is what I read.

So if you have anything to share or say, then feel free to do so.
That's what Twitter is for.

Sounds like good advice, although I'm not sure what to tweet half the time. =P Eh, I'll make sure I think of something other than boring filler tweets between the real updates! xD I'm losing a lot of steam on the rage comics I've made on the side anyway, so I'll have way more free-time to keep up with it.

Well, you could tweet about posts that you might consider interesting.

Might give people some more insight to the forums and awaken their interest.

Heh, sounds like a good idea; I've already highlighted one forum topic of interest to followers with a tweet just hours ago. Maybe more people will get involved in engaging topics that way? I never thought there were so many uses like this besides the usual forum announcements! Hey, maybe I could quote funny or witty posts of the day too? =P (EDIT : Forum polls could get a mention on the Twitter page too! That way a more general consensus could be formed each time a poll is posted!) Mostly just more ideas rolling around in my head right now; not sure if I'll put them into practice just yet without more consideration, and feedback of course.

BTW: Have you contacted "Shantae" or WayForward yet?

Come to think of it, I haven't! I'm thinking about making a separate discussion for the best questions we should ask Shantae in the flesh, since it is a "role-playing" account of sorts. Still not even remotely sure what to ask WayForward themselves, though.

Also, I've been considering "pranking" "her" too, if whoever's running the account has the time to "respond"! I dunno, it's a really crazy idea, (Like everything else I come up with! xD) so should I spill the beans for feedback?

I don't think anyone really keeps up with the Shantae twitter account anymore. It's mostly just become another news feed, but for Shantae games rather than WayForward as a whole. It's mostly just anything Shantae related is copy and pasted from the WayForward's news feed to the Shantae account. It's more than likely there'd be no one keeping up with it enough to respond.

That's too bad. But maybe they just don't have the time currently? o.O

Anyway, you could go ahead and say:
"Hey, guys/Shantae. We have created a forum about Shantae/you. What do you think? *insert link here*"
Nice and simple.

That really sucks, but it's understandable for any busy game developers, and the account may have been a one-time gag they did out of boredom anyway. Sure was a hoot while it lasted though, but it probably wouldn't hurt to plug our forums anyway, who knows? =P Currently trying to think of a proper tweet to direct at "her", I don't want to turn off whoever would might read it with complete newbish talk! (I like sounding collected, but sometimes I do go a little overboard. I've been trying to avoid typing individual posts for longer than fifteen minutes lately. :#) Paragon's suggested proposal makes sense though, it's clean and simple, so I won't deviate from that by much.

Oh God, I keep getting a lump in my throat every time I try to tweet "her"! I mean, it's not like I'm tweeting to an actual female, (I dunno, maybe there isn't some dude maintaining it?) but if "she" does read it, I don't want to come off as some childish noob who made a quick forum in five minutes, or a psycho fanatic fan/nerd either. I'm so nervous I need feedback on this one! ;_; Is it too nerdy? Shameless plug? Imposing?

The ladies turn me to jelly; I can't stay composed and collected around them for the life of me! It's like even my best words come out sounding like a direah-stricken baboon in heat. ;_;

Anyway, this new forum skin we've been putting together just gave me a brilliant idea. How about we show our Twitter page some love with the assets from these boards? =P It would certainly look a lot fancier and more consistent with our main theme. I've been meaning to add stuff to the background like links to our dA-group and these forums anyway, it's pretty blank as-is.

Haha, finally got around to skinning it guys! XD You should totally visit the page, I gave it a pretty fancy side bar and then some. Anything that else needs tweeking? =P You'll miss a lot of stuff if you don't have at least a 1280x768 resolution, but all the important info should be visible to anybody with a 1024px-wide resolution or greater.

I think we need to draft a more attractive looking Shantae for the bottom of it, though, reusing the Shantae from our old forum banner is kind of a temporary solution until we have something better to put there. XD
