Recently Discovered An Epic Game
This game is called Skullgirls: a 2D fighting game, and it was made from a group even smaller than WayForward, but just as impressive. Now I was skeptical when I first came across the game, but as I looked into it, I started to really like the style and gameplay.
I'll let the video do most of the talking, but some things I noticed right away were the incredible graphics (that incredibly beautiful drawn art style in-game is already a sell to me) and the smooth gameplay. Now, after seeing the video, I learned you can get a free trial if you have either an Xbox 360 or PS3, so I grabbed the trial, and it plays just as smoothly as it looked. This was a real shocker to me, especially considering how small the team is that's working on this game. Even with just one game under their belt, I'm willing to nominate Reverge Labs for the good video game company thread.
Some of the characters in this game could easily go in Paragon's new creepy thread as well.
One last note: from 1:48 - 1:55 is hands down the most epic attack I've ever seen in a fighting game, period.

Re: Recently Discovered An Epic Game
Great game, but was unfortunately unable to make so much as a ripple in the ocean of Street Fighter fans (the kind that'll play this game for five minutes then go back to spam HP Shoryukens with Ken).
It's fine with me, though. I prefer the smaller fanbase, since that means less "pros" playing the game solely to humiliate casual players who just want to enjoy a few rounds. Now if only they'd finally get that patch released...

The patch would be nice if all promised is included, but the game's new to me anyway.
While it's obvious the game's popularity wouldn't rank against the veterans, it did surprisingly well in sales from what I saw, especially for a game and creator no one's ever heard of.
I prefer this game to Street Fighter and KOF anyway, although personally I'm more of a Tekken/Soul Calibur fan.
I can't believe I forgot to mention the other incredible aspect of this game: the music!

Re: Recently Discovered An Epic Game
I've heard about this fighter all over the place, but that was the first time I glassed over any footage of it! =P
Not too sure if it's something I'd buy on the PSN though, some of those characters are pretty strange even by Soul Caliber's standards; a couple of them had me thinking, "WTF?!", but there's a character for everybody I guess. XD That one redhead, whatever her name is, might be one I'd pick.
Does a typical round usually last that long too? The match kinda dragged out for a while, my attention span was starting to give in halfway through watching it; probably just too used to the typical 60 second match in other fighting games. (Either that or I just get bored watching other people play games, it's one reason I don't care much for sitting in front of playthrough videos. Nothing wrong with them, IMO, but I tend to nod off watching Golf Tournaments, yet don't mind playing the sport myself.)
