How could the plot of "Shantae: Risky's Revenge" continue?
So, about time someone opened a thread here.
The title should say it all.
With so many loose ends, "Risky's Revenge" pretty much cries out for a sequel to tie them up.
The ending was heavily criticised by some people. Which I think is justified.
If the story is continued in a later game, then it might well work. But as it stands now, it is more like a mental kick in the balls.
But I am sure Matt Bozon already planned things out.
Nevertheless, it's still a subject that I love to discuss.
So how do you think could the plot of Risky's Revenge continue in the sequel(s)?
Let me hear your ideas.
I will post my (and my friend's) script later. I will leave the start to you guys.

Personally, I'm pretty sure Matt Bozon would have continued the series, in a gameplay manner, with rotating characters. Probably with Shantae, Skie and Bolo for various roles, since she *SPOILERS* lose her half-genie powers, meaning no more belly-dancing transformation.
On a story level, however, my guess would be to actually deepens the lore in the whole games and characters, probably with the origins of Shantae, her mother, father and all that stuff. It is pretty weird to see that in the end, her hair-whip came from her father, not her genie mother. So it might be a focus of a sequel of some sort.

Different bad girl?
Maybe we could have a new baddie.... like Risky's sister or something.... or a new Risky!
Maybe a cyborg version of Risky boots, with an army of cyborg tinkerbats......
Or it could go Metroid-style, insisting that since Shantae has lost her genie powers, she has to try and regain new ones somehow. That means new dances and new transformations, which would be shuuuuweeeet.

Uh, the cyborg-idea sounds kinda crazy. And I think it'd go a little too far. ^^;
But I do support the concept of a new villain. In fact, I came up with a villain myself.
Though I won't tell just yet.
As for the "Retrieving Powers Metroid-Style": That could work, depending on how it's done.

Re: How could the plot of "Shantae: Risky's Revenge" continue?
They definitely left a lot of hooks at the end of Risky's Revenge. I'm guessing we'd be looking at finding out more about her parents. She said she felt farther from her mother than she ever had, and there was the mystery that apparently her hair powers don't come from her mother (which suggests they come from her father somehow...?).
If we're looking at something specifically to happen in a game, I feel like they hinted at other characters being playable when they said Shantae wouldn't be proudly doing things alone anymore, so I'm hoping to see playable Bolo and Skye. I'd particularly like to see Bolo playable since he's apparently hyper-competent when it comes to fighting, but he could also end up as a sparring partner...
Back to things that don't rely on the game. I've kind of gotten the vibe that Rottytops was a "sometimes" friend, and they also sort of hinted at needed to watch out for her and her brothers. Shantae seems to like being friends with them and not letting what they do bother her much, though, so I could see some potential tension rising out of this (which always makes for good stories).

- Spoiler:
- Risky still has that lamp... Might she look for another way to put it to use now that her first plan with it failed?

- Only the biggest spoiler ever. Just click on me already! =P:
- We have spoiler tags ya know! ;_; Not that I'm that upset over it, of course, since this is a topic about the story post-Risky's Revenge. (Should have figured as much before I clicked on the topic. xD)
Her animal transformations got on my nerves anyway, so good riddance! Now maybe they'll focus on improving the flow of the platforming overall. Dunno how else she'd attack without her hair, though. Maybe Shantae will be able to get those powers back through "upgrades", like in the Metroid games? =P :bricked:
Re: How could the plot of "Shantae: Risky's Revenge" continue?
Alright, I think I will post the story-script that me and my friend worked on.
BE PREPARED FOR A WALL OF TEXT!!!
I will do it like this:
First post a brief description of the premise, then list the few relevant NEW characters and then post the complete script in SPOILER-TAGS!
This script follows the trilogy-concept, that "Risky's Revenge" was originally supposed to follow.
(And we still hope those plans will be revived sometime in the future.)
And while the script does have all the most important story-elements, it still leaves enough room for more ideas.
So use your imagination to fill out the rest.
Here goes:
Part 2: "The Dark Prelude"
PREMISE:
Shantae lost her Genie-Powers and Risky still is out there with the lamp in her possession.
After talking with the mayor, Shantae and her friends learn of the Sequin Land Palace, whose King is supposed to know about a relic.
That relic is a Magic Talisman, which can counter "Dark Magic". And apparently the lamp seems to be made of it.
Shantae sees this as a chance to get back her lost powers and stop Risky in her tracks.
However, Risky already found out in which ways the lamp can be used. And she drains magic powers from any source she can find, to increase the powers of the lamp.
And if the lamp's powers continue to billow up at this rate, there is no telling what could happen.
Can Shantae find the magic talisman and stop both Risky and the lamp?
NEW CHARACTERS:
- "The Mysterious Girl"
A mysterious character, dressed in strange, ninja-like clothes with her face concealed.
However, she knows exactly what has transpired and supports Shantae.
Shantae meets her several times throughout the adventure. Where she gives Shantae useful information and maybe even items and stuff and then just mysteriously disappear again.
(In pretty much the same fashion as Sheik in Ocarina of Time. )
But how can she know all this? And how can she know what happened to Shantae? Just who is she?
That is a mystery...
- "The King"
(No, not the King of Hyrule. )
The ruler of the Palace. A king with the heart at the right place.
Though he is a realist and doesn't believe in anything that doesn't exist in his eyes.
But still, he is willing to help out anyone in need.
- "The Great Vizier"
The King's most trusted advisor, who might be more of a supporting character than the King himself.
He can be quite rude. But still helpful.
He studied the arts of "Dark Magic".
A now extinct kind of magic, that a tribe of evil sorcerors developed back when the Genie's were still around.
Since the lamp is apparently made of this kind of magic, his advice can be invaluable.
There might be more characters that Shantae will meet on her adventures.
COMPLETE PLOT:
Part 3: Rise of the Evil Genie
PREMISE:
The Evil Genie has awakened from within the lamp and merged both Sequin Land and the Genie Realm into one, chaotic place.
Now she hunts the Genie's and absorbs them as a means to regain her lost powers and become the ultimate ruler of both worlds.
Shantae needs to find to the powers of the four "Genie Core's" (does anyone have a better name?) and power up her hair with them in order to gain the strength to defeat the Evil Genie.
Her friends are lost, the Genie's hunted and the population of Sequin Land under the influence of the Evil Genie.
Can Shantae rescue her friends, defeat the Evil Genie and save the world?
NEW CHARACTERS:
- "The Evil Genie"
(Currently unnamed. Do you have a good name for her?)
An evil and extremely powerful entity, who was apparenty sealed inside the lamp.
Now she seeks to regain her lost powers and rule the worlds.
Even though her powers have degenerated they still surpass even the ones of the Genie's, who are helpless against her.
Thus she can easily absorb them to gain more power.
- "The Minions"
The Minions of the Evil Genie, which she can create from nothing.
They take various shapes. From little ugly fiends to humanoid looking minions to big monsters.
- "The Genie's"
Some of the Genie's actually manage to hide from the Evil Genie.
And those are willing to assist Shantae in every way they can.
While their powers are limited, with the Evil Genie being around, they still can come in handy.
Once again, there might be more characters.
NOTE: The "Vizier" and the "Mysterious Girl" return as supporting characters, once they are rescued.
And for some reason the Mysterious Girl seems to know the Genie Realm well. How can that be...?
COMPLETE PLOT:
Phew, that was a lot.
But that is the story that me and my friend worked out so far.
If there is anything to adjust, feel free to let me know.

COMPLETE PLOT:
- Spoiler:
- Upon learning of the Sequin Land Palace from the mayor, Shantae and friends instantly make their way to it.
As the arrive, the King already is waiting for them.
However, the King says that he only heard rumors of the relic in question and he cannot tell where the item is located, if it even exists.
His father knew, though the King never took it seriously.
Unfortunately the father passed away recently.
While that sounds rather disappointing at first, the King still promises to do whatever he can.
Shantae and her friends stay overnight, while the King and Mimic search for clues.
But Shantae can't sleep and thinks hard about what to do.
But then a strange, talking firefly appears in her room, telling her to follow.
Shantae does that and follows the firefly to a secret room, that not even the King knows about.
In which she meets the "Mysterious Girl". Mimic and her friends arrive shortly after, who apparently followed Shantae.
The Mysterious Girl knows everything that has transpired (she wouldn't say why though) and urges Shantae to continue the fight.
The Girl also tells her about the the relic.
It's a talisman that has the ability to counter "Dark Magic" and that can also counter the effects of the lamp.
It has been seperated into four parts that Shantae now needs to find. And she tells her where she can find them.
Lastly she warns her about the lamp, saying that if it were allowed to remain in the wrong hands for too long, there is no telling what could happen.
With all the information, Shantae is filled with confidence and is determined to stop both Risky and the lamp.
Though she and her friends decide that it might be better to get some sleep first.
Which Shantae does.
But early in the morning, the peace is disturbed.
The palace is attacked by Risky.
Shantae fights the Tinkerbat-Horde. And eventually faces Risky herself, who shows off the new abilites she has gained, by AUGMENTING her Tinkerbats with the powers of the lamp.
However, Shantae still fends off the attack, forcing Risky and her pirates to retreat.
So Shantae sets out the find the fragments of the talisman and assemble it.
On her way she would encounter various persons and bosses again.
Upon getting all the fragments and forming the talisman, Shantae sets out to find Risky's hideout.
And here Rottytops and her Zombie-Clan come into play again.
Shantae receives a message from Rotty, saying that she has something useful to give her.
So Shantae goes back to the Zombie-Caravan to meet her. But with caution, since she doesn't want to be tricked again.
She runs into her brothers, Poe and Abner, who block her way. Which leads to a mini-boss fight against them.
Shantae deals with them swiftly. And next she meets up with Rottytops herself. Who really seems to be on her side this time.
Rotty and her brothers found out where Risky's new hideout is located.
And she is ready to share this knowledge with Shantae. But not without a condition.
Shantae needs to defeat her again. But not in a race this time, but in a FIGHT!
So another mini-boss battle.
Rotty goes hand-to-hand in the boss battle against her.
Of course with nasty tricks from the Zombie-Book thrown into the mix.
Such as "firing" her fist at Shantae and extending her spine to attack her from afar.
Shantae defeats her and Rottytops is an awe about her fighting skills. She wants to tell Shantae what she needs to know.
But then her brothers appear once again and object.
And they succeed in convincing Rottytops to use their "Ultimate Technique" in order to truly "test her strength and worth".
In which they COMBINE THEIR BODIES into one Super-Zombie. A technique they like to call "SUPER ZOMBIE FUSION!!!".
Shantae has to defeat them again, which she does. Though all of their body parts are scattered all over the ground.
She reassembles Rottytops's body. Her brothers tell her sister to reassemble them as well.
But before they can manipulate her again, Shantae drags Rottytops with her to a place where they can talk privately, leaving them disassembled.
Rottytops then gives her the location of Risky's hideout and also does apologize for what she did before.
She actually feels bad about it.
Shantae however accepts the apology. And after a short conversation, she leaves the Zombie-Caravan and goes for Risky's hideout.
And as she gets there, she has to fight hordes of Tinkerbats, as she proceeds.
Eventually she finds a writing of one of the Tinkerbats.
Which reveals that shortly after Risky obtained the lamp, she started to act very strange, "as if she is drunk with power or something...".
It also mentions strange experiments with magic and the fact that even most of the Tinkerbats were actually concerned about her.
Eventually she encounters a miniature version of the Tinkertank (Risky's mech from the GBC-original), which however is capable of using some magical abilities!
Shantae destroys it. But still wonders how it can utilize powers like these.
She continues to search for Risky, but she barely misses her.
Risky has set course for Scuttle Town, planning to attack it again.
Shantae instantly gives chase.
And in Scuttle Town, she finally meets up with Risky.
The battle commences in the main plaza, with everyone watching.
Shantae faces her Tinkertub again, which is not only fully repaired, but also revealed to be MAGICALLY ENHANCED.
(Also explaining how the Mini Tinkertank could utilize those magic powers)
With the ship enhanced with magic, it gives her all sorts of new abilities.
Like Eye Lasers or the ability to generate magic shockwaves, by stomping or landing from a jump.
It also can open its mouth to reveal a giant cannon behind it, that can fire a huge magic laser-beam.
Shantae damages the ship and eventually enters it, destroying the magical core, which utterly destroys the ship.
Enraged that Shantae destroyed another of her proud creations, Risky duels Shantae.
It pretty much goes like the final duel against her from the GBC-original.
Though she has learned some new nasty tricks, such as kicks as well as the ability to dodge, block and counter.
After Shantae hits her enough times, Risky will lose her hat and the battle halts.
Risky then intends to use the power of the lamp on herself.
Mimic shouts at her not to do this.
But she does not listen and uses the lamp to gain genie-powers of her own and get superpowered.
However, this comes at the cost of her humanity.
Now fully exposed to the dark powers and intoxicated by them, Risky has gone completely mad.
First of all, she gains a creepy, disturbing look on her face and an utterly psychotic, hysterical laugh.
Secondly, she suddenly starts talking about "drowning Sequin Land in darkness" and is totally obsessed by the thought of killing Shantae.
Now I have to admit, for a split second the thought crossed my mind of having Risky scratch herself until she starts bleeding, while laughing manically.
Further demonstrating that she has gone completely insane.
Of course, the wounds would've healed quickly, due her being superpowered.
But after that split second, the realization came that this would go way too far for a game like Shantae.
Still I felt like posting it anyways... ^^;
Anyway, moving along...
Risky decides to use Shantae's own Genie Powers against her, by using her own TRANSFORMATION-DANCES!
With each defeated transformation, Shantae retrieves part of her Genie Powers.
After Shantae defeated all of her transformations, Risky uses her powers to lift up part of Scuttle Town into the sky.
Now, on a small floating island with a thunderstorm roaring in the background, the final showdown between Shantae and Risky begins.
And Risky, still superpowered, utilizes her usual swordplay as well as powerful Dark Abilities. Such as firing magic projectiles or teleportation.
After a tough battle, Shantae still emerges victorious and focuses the power of the talisman to force the dark powers out of Risky and completely restore Shantae's Genie Powes.
After the process is done, Risky falls on the ground unconscious and the lamp also drops onto the ground.
Risky eventually wakes up and doesn't remember anything that happened.
In fact, with the exception of the theft of the lamp at the beginning of Risky's Revenge, she is totally unaware of what she has done over the course of the two games (Risky's Revenge and this second part, I mean).
Shantae however thinks that Risky is messing with her, but then turns to the lamp.
But just as she wants to pick it up, a loud, evil laugh is heard.
And then a strange, wicked Genie emerges from it.
While Shantae first tries to talk to her friendly, it is quickly revealed that the Genie is EVIL and EXTREMELY POWERFUL.
Shantae then is determined to fight her. But the Genie says that she wants to get all her powers back first.
The Evil Genie also briefly talks to Mimic, apparently knowing him. And also mentioning a "Genie-Friend".
Much to the surprise of Shantae.
But before Shantae can get anything out of him, the Evil Genie opens up a giant, black rift in the sky.
Which then sucks anything and everything into it, like a Black Hole.
As Shantae wakes up, she notices that she isn't in Scuttle Town anymore.
She walks a little and then finally realizes where she is. A place she is familiar with.
She is in the Genie Realm!!!
TO BE CONTINUED!

(Currently unnamed. Do you have a good name for her?)
An evil and extremely powerful entity, who was apparenty sealed inside the lamp.

NOTE: The "Vizier" and the "Mysterious Girl" return as supporting characters, once they are rescued.
And for some reason the Mysterious Girl seems to know the Genie Realm well. How can that be...?
COMPLETE PLOT:
- Spoiler:
- Shantae finds herself in a chaotic Genie Realm.
The Evil Genie merged the Genie Realm with Sequin Land, thus creating a really chaotic place.
Many areas appear strange, distorted, rotated or awkwardly combined (like ice and magma areas merged together and stuff).
The population of Sequin Land seems to be in trance, under the influence of some wicked power.
However, the "more relevant" characters (Sky, Bolo, Rottytops, etc.) are imprisoned. And Shantae needs to find and rescue them.
So much for the setting. Now for the plot.
Shantae explores the chaotic world and eventually finds herself in Scuttle Town. Where everyone seems to live their normal life.
But something is still off about it.
Shantae eventually runs into some Genie's, who hide from the Evil Genie. She then learns that the population is under the influence of some wicked power.
So Shantae seeks to find the root of the problem and clear it out.
Eventually she also finds the "Mysterious Girl", imprisoned within a Magic Cage. Shantae destroys it and frees her.
They have a conversation in which the Girl tells Shantae about the "Genie Core's", which she can use to power up her hair.
And she needs to do this, in order to be able to defeat the Genie.
So Shantae's objective is to find the four "Genie Core's" to power up her hair with them and use the power to stop the Evil Genie.
On her way she needs to save her friends and anyone else, who is imprisoned.
And when she defeats a boss, the wicked powers that this boss kept over his part of Sequin Land and its population will be gone and they will regain all of their senses.
By now, Shantae has already become much more powerful than an ordinary Half-Genie.
Which allows her to learn the "Sacred Transformations", that only "the chosen heroine" can learn.
Rescuing characters is essential and will result in various things.
When Sky and Bolo are rescued, they will join Shantae and assist her in certain dungeons.
However some other characters are more plot-heavy when they are rescued.
Rottytops, upon realizing what happened to the world, feels bad about it. Since she feels that her alliance with Risky allowed this to happen.
eventually she finally snaps at her brothers and causes her to reveal some more of her story.
She will also assist Shantae in one of the dungeons.
When Risky and her Tinkerbats are rescued, she will be her usual self at first.
But the Genie's, that are found at the place, allow her to regain her lost memories.
And it is revealed that Risky has fallen under the Evil Genie's influence, shortly after she stole the lamp.
She used Risky to do her bidding, which secretly infuriates Risky.
She runs off, along with her Tinkerbats.
The biggest and most revealing story-bit is when Mimic is rescued, somewhere before the dungeon of final core.
Since the Evil Genie briefly talked with Mimic at the end of part 2, before she threw both worlds into chaos, Shantae could clearly tell that Mimic knew all along what was inside the lamp and wants him to tell.
And the whole story about the "Evil Genie" and Mimic's story with her is revealed.
The Evil Genie was an evil entity that fed on evil intentions of humans and became so powerful that not even the Genie's could do anything against her and she threw the world into chaos.
However, Shantae's Mother, a unique genie, fought against the Evil Genie in an epic battle with assistance of her friend Mimic.
And since she also wielded unique powers, Shantae's Mother was able to defeat the Evil Genie, allowing the Genie's to seal her inside the lamp.
It was shortly after those events, when all of the Genie mysteriously disappeared from Sequin Land and were never seen again.
But before Shantae's Mother vanished, she entrusted both Shantae (a baby at the time) and the lamp to Mimic.
At the entrance of the dungeon of the final core, Risky shows up again.
But much to Shantae's surprise, she doesn't want to harm Shantae but actually team-up with her.
Though it's quite clear that she actually hates to do this. And throughout the dungeon the two have some arguments.
But both still work well together, clear the dungeon and defeat its boss.
Shantae obtains the power of the final core. Shortly after, they encounter the Evil Genie, witnessing the absorption of the most powerful Genie's, which causes the Evil Genie to finally regain all of her powers.
Risky, angered due the fact that she has been used, recklessly engages the Genie. But she is easily defeated with just one single attack.
She then passes out.
The Vizier then appears. Revealing that to be on the side of the Evil Genie.
And it turns out that he not only knows about "Dark Magic", but actually wields it himself.
Since the Evil Genie assimilated the "Dark Magic" back then and became a much more potent user than any human before, she saw him as a perfect henchman.
Shantae brings the injured Risky back to Scuttle Town, leaving her in the care of her friends.
However, the "Mysterious Girl" shows up shortly after.
Shantae figured out by now, that she isn't human, but a Genie.
Since there is no way a human could know so much about the Genie World.
The girl then reveals her true self. And Mimic identifies her as Shantae's Mother.
She tells Shantae and her friends a little more about the power of Shantae's hair and how it is the only way to defeat the Evil Genie.
She also tells them why the Genie's left Sequin Land behind.
To put it simply, most of them felt directly responsible for the events that happened.
Since they became involved with the mortals and underestimated the evil that has contaminated the mortal kind.
In the end, they figured that they were never supposed to get involved with the mortals.
But they did.
So they wanted the mortals to start over without the power of the Genie's.
After all the info has been given, Shantae's Mother gives her a magic upgrade that allows one of Shantae's transformations to shoot projectiles of light.
After that however, the ground suddenly starts shaking and Shantae's mother is imprisoned within a crystal.
It's the doing of the Evil Genie, who was so eager to get her hands on the one Genie who defeated her back then. And now she finally got her.
The crystal with Shantae's Mother then disappears and the Evil Genie invites Shantae to her Palace, if she wants to save her mother.
Shantae does so and goes to the Palace of the Evil Genie. Aka the final dungeon.
In which Shantae, together with Sky, Bolo and Rottytops clears the traps, puzzles and challenges that it offers.
Eventually she encounters the Vizier. But he is defeated by Shantae.
Disappointed by his henchman, the Evil Genie strips him of his powers and leaves him alone.
However, the Vizier realized his wrongdoings and begs for forgiveness.
He then tells Shantae how the Evil Genie can be defeated.
Now Shantae has to scale the central tower. And the Evil Genie is at the top.
Shantae tells her friends to take the Vizier out of the dungeon. She has to do it alone, from this point on.
They do as she says and Shantae proceeds to scaling the Central Tower. And on her way to the top, many powerful minions block her way.
But she defeats them all.
And Shantae then finally meets up with the Evil Genie.
And after a conversation Shantae fights the Evil Genie.
She makes good use of the Light-Projectile's during the battle, which allows her to apparently defeat the Genie.
Having received too much damag to fight on on her own, the Evil Genie POSSESSES Shantae's Mother.
And now Shantae is pitted in a fight against her mother.
Shantae defeats her and her mother slowly but steady forces the Evil Genie out of her body.
But the tower starts to crumble. So her mother quickly uses her powers to teleport Shantae to safety.
The whole palace collapsed shortly after.
Worried about her mother, she goes back to the now destroyed palace. Searching the debris of the palace.
However, a fully rejuvenated Evil Genie then rises from the debris.
She then transforms into her final form. And the Final Showdown commences.
Though at first Shantae doesn't seem to be able to damage the Evil Genie.
Shantae's Mother calls out to Shantae from within the Evil Genie's body and she appears in spirit-form.
Shantae protects her mother, while she focuses her powers.
After that is done, both Shantae and her mother perform the Final Dance of the game, that calls out to everyone that Shantae has met.
Her friends, her rivals, the townpeople and eventually even Risky start to cheer for her.
Which weakens the Evil Genie and makes her vulnerable.
The battle resumes and Shantae fights with all her power.
And she manages to overpower the Evil Genie.
Shantae then performs an epic final blow and destroys the entity once and for all.
And all of the Genie's are freed.
They instantly get to work and restore the worlds, returning everything back to normal.
Shantae's friends are back in Scuttle Town
But Shantae herself is nowhere in sight.
Back in the Genie Realm, Shantae meets the Queen Genie, the ruler of the Genie's, who is mesmerized by Shantae's strength and resolve.
She has done the impossible by destroying the Evil Genie.
A task that not even all Genie's together could achieve.
And it's possible that Shantae might already have become as powerful as a full Genie, if not even more powerful.
If she were to turn into a Full Genie, she would become an extremely powerful Genie, with powers close to godhood, far surpassing the powers of the Master Genie.
Which is why she is offered the spot as new Queen Genie.
But Shantae isn't interested. She states that becoming a Full Genie was a Child's Dream she once had.
But she has grown up and learned what's truly important and also she is perfectly fine the way she is right now.
The Queen Genie continously insists, but eventually Shantae gives her the tongue and then turns to her mother, who both go back to the mortal world.
Upon returning, the first thing Shantae's mother does, is extract the power of the four Genie Cores from Shantae's hair.
They have served their purpose and are supposed to go back to sleep, once they did.
The mother is also really proud of Shantae and can hardly believe how strong she has become.
And she feels that Shantae no longer needs her guidance and Sequin Land will do just fine with her around.
She also clearly expresses her love for Shantae.
Shantae is moved to tears and both share a hug, before her mother and the power of the four cores depart for the Genie Realm.
Her friends arrive shortly after, happy to see her back in one piece, Sky and Bolo share a group hug with her.
The Mayor shows up, regretting his former decision of firing Shantae, giving her back her spot as Guardian Genie.
And in the background, Risky and her Tinkerbats are seen within a damaged ship.
Risky swears that she will return to settle things with Shantae.
And with that, the normal life returns...
Phew, that was a lot.
But that is the story that me and my friend worked out so far.
If there is anything to adjust, feel free to let me know.

Whoah...
Wow, that really was alot. As soon as I read "huge magic laser-beam" I knew it was going to be awesome. I can see you put a lot of effort into this, it's such a shame that Matt Bozon can't use it :/
Thanks for spending the time to write all that, it's got great, original ideas that would work really well in the Shantae style.

Re: How could the plot of "Shantae: Risky's Revenge" continue?
Hmmm, a name for the evil genie...
Why not Eva Quin? A play on the words "Evil Queen."
As for the "Genie Cores," why not "Djinn Genes?"

"Eva Quin"...
Hmm, could work.
As for "Djinn Gene's"...
Sounds a little too... organic if you ask me. ^^;
But still thanks a lot.
Glad you like it.
Well, I am sure Matt could use it more or less, if he wanted to.
Then again, I wouldn't want him to take it directly.
I would already know what happens beforehand and it would make the game less exciting and fun.
If he wants to use it, I'd want him to merely use it as a base and then put his own ideas into it.
That way it'd roughly follow my concept and yet still be different.
Thus it still offers a lot of surprises to make the first-time playthrough an exciting trip through Shantae's world.
Catch my drift?

Re: How could the plot of "Shantae: Risky's Revenge" continue?
Whew! Finally read through that whole story pitch. I had my doubts for a moment or two, but a lot of that looks to be really structurally sound. Really nice effort!
There are a few questions lingering in my mind. These are pretty much just little things that might be worth considering and/or touching up since, like I said, it's looking really nice overall.
One more thing, not related to any of that. In looking at hooks that were left open from Risky's Revenge, how'd I miss the **** Ammo Baron? There were hints that his part of the story was going to be resolved, but it was one more thing that was on a really open note. Who's to say it went exactly as planned?

- Little points to address:
- What exactly sparked the fight with the zombies? That seemed to be a little out of nowhere.
What happened to Risky after she was knocked out in Act 3? Shantae left her in the care of her friends, but her friends came right with her after that, and Risky seems to have just disappeared...
At first I thought the ending of part three looked suspiciously similar to the end of GBC Shantae. I can see where it's sort of a theme of things coming full circle, though, so no harm there really.
Does it seem like unimportant characters' memories being erased is being overused here? It's one thing if it's a consistent theme going on with this dark magic, but it can come across as a bit of a cop out. Just something to be aware of.
- One more note, includes a spoiler from the end of Risky's Revenge:
- I feel like there's significance in Shantae openly saying she wants to be a full-fledged genie at the end of GBC Shantae (giving it up so she can continue to be with and protect her friends), then she has to destroy the genie side she does have at the end of Risky's Revenge (sacrificing everything she ever wanted to be for the same purpose of protection). Does going to retrieve her genie powers feel like it cheapens that? I don't mean to say it automatically does, but it's something to watch for.

Re: How could the plot of "Shantae: Risky's Revenge" continue?
Okay my replies.
- Big Q&A:
- Q: "What exactly sparked the fight with the zombies? That seemed to be a little out of nowhere."
A: Well, Rottytops' motive simply was to have some fun and see if Shantae is worth or something.
Pretty much the same reason why she raced Shantae in the GBC-original.
As for Poe and Abner: I have to get a little more detailed.
I always figured that Rottytops would never change sides like that. Considering that even she held a grudge against Risky in the GBC-original.
But I think it's canon that her brothers are bad influences for her. And thus they can easily manipulate her.
And I am sure she formed an alliance with Risky, because her brothers sweet-talked her into doing it.
Why did they do it? Well, I can't say for certain. But I'd think that they don't like Shantae for whatever reason...
Q: "What happened to Risky after she was knocked out in Act 3? Shantae left her in the care of her friends, but her friends came right with her after that, and Risky seems to have just disappeared..."
A: I figured that it was obvious that she is in a sickbed at the time to recover.
I mean, she received a direct blast from the Evil Genie. And that gotta do its damage.
But I also mentioned her supporting Shantae in the final phase of the final battle. And at the end where she vows to return to settle the score.
"At first I thought the ending of part three looked suspiciously similar to the end of GBC Shantae. I can see where it's sort of a theme of things coming full circle, though, so no harm there really."
Okay then.
Q: "Does it seem like unimportant characters' memories being erased is being overused here? It's one thing if it's a consistent theme going on with this dark magic, but it can come across as a bit of a cop out. Just something to be aware of."
A: Okay, I admit. It was a little random from my side. And it's expendable. ^^;
Q: "I feel like there's significance in Shantae openly saying she wants to be a full-fledged genie at the end of GBC Shantae (giving it up so she can continue to be with and protect her friends), then she has to destroy the genie side she does have at the end of Risky's Revenge (sacrificing everything she ever wanted to be for the same purpose of protection). Does going to retrieve her genie powers feel like it cheapens that? I don't mean to say it automatically does, but it's something to watch for."
A: While I see where you're getting at, I also think it's not the right thing to do.
Her Genie-Powers are a central element of her character. And you cannot just take it away from her like that.
That's like taking away the jumps from Mario or permanently taking away the Power Suit from Samus. You just can't do that.
UNLESS you want to end the series altogether at this point. Which would be a little sad, but then this might work.
But I made the concept in a way so that the series could still be continued.
Aka, "The trilogy is over and done. And so we move on to new adventures".
Plus, I think she already sacrificed enough, by giving up her wish of becoming a Full Genie.
Because she realized that her friends and loved ones are much more important to her than becoming a Genie.
No need to punish her further for it, if you ask me.
Hmmm...
I think I already threw out some ideas in your direction, but if anyone else was interested, here are just an idea or so for the newer transformations:
"Ifrit" form
Physical changes:
-Short "dragon-like" horns have grown out of Shantae's new fire-like hair
-Costume turns into a two-piece fire-designed harem/dancer outfit
-Fire-like aura emanates from Shantae's entire body
Abilities:
-Immunity to fire-based attacks, as well as being able to traverse lava flows in various dungeons/caverns for a short amount of time
-Can now whip out fireballs in short bursts when she whips her hair, and when she charges her attack, Shantae will unleash a "dragonbreath" attack (i.e., she breathes fire)
-With her charged attack, she can break down certain doors/walls/structures (Like her Elephant form)
"Ghul" form
Physical changes:
-Outfit has become entirely black, with Ninja-like differences to it (I.e., her signature bra has become a bare-midriff short-sleeved "Gi-bra" as well as black genie pants), now sports a tengui (Ninja face/head cover) in the same style as a Ninja, but with her ponytail still sticking out from the back)
-Her genie shoes have become sandal-like for better mobility
-Sports a grey belt with several Kunai attached to it (Just for aesthetics to her form)
Abilities:
-Can climb walls and ceilings with ease (Similar to her monkey and spider forms) as well as run faster than normal, as well as crawl into tight spaces (like her monkey form)
-Can attack by whipping 2-4 kunai from her hair, and with a charged attack, she can whip out a large Shuriken from her hair
-Becomes immune to Poison-based attacks
"Marid" form
Physical changes:
-Shantae's outfit becomes light-blue and gold in color
-One costume difference being her belt-sash has become "feathery"
-Another difference being and she sports small, dove-like wings from the back of her genie bra (which enables flight, as like her Harpy form)
Abilities:
-Has the abilities to dive deeply into water/the sea (as her legs briefly become a mermaid tail while underwater as alluding to her mermaid form) and can jump and even fly up into the air (as alluding to her harpy form)
-Her attack is when she cannot no longer whip her hair, but can instead fire out small streams of lightning, and with her charged attack, she fires out an electrified spike-ball which circles her body for a brief amount of time
-Has become immune to electric-based attacks
That's...not all too confusing, is it? ._.;;

No, it's all good. ^^
Though I see those are only three.
Shouldn't it be four? ^^;
But either way, thanks for sharing the transformation-ideas.

No problem! :D
Well, technically there was only 3 transformations in Shantae: RR, and there's 4 different tribes/races of Djinn, according to mythology and such. (Djinn, Ghul, Ifrit and Marid, to be exact. :O)
But thanks, nonetheless.

Well okay then.
Great work either way.

Double-post + Bump. D:
But I wanted to point out that I slightly adjusted my story-concept.
But I wanted to point out that I slightly adjusted my story-concept.
- What I have adjusted...:
- - Adjusted the Final Battle against Risky of part 2. I decided to give Risky her own transformations, though I don't mention which.
- Removed the "Evil Genie needs a vessel" concept. Since I figured it makes the plot unnecessarily complicated.
- Completely removed the "Genie's wiping Memories" concept. It's expendable and unnecessary.
