Your top five favorite video games?
So, what games are your top 5? Which ones are still keeping you coming back after all these years? You don't even have to list a top five of all time if you can't choose. You can post top fives based on platforms as well, like I'm about to do!
Nintendo NES

Metroid, Zelda, Mario Bros 3, Rad Racer, Punch Out!
Super Nintendo
---
Actraiser, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Street Fighter II, Earthworm Jim, Legend of Zelda : ALttP
SEGA Genesis
---
Sonic 2, Ristar, Earthworm Jim 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic CD
Sony Playstation (PS1, to all you younger blokes!)
---
Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot Warped, Gran Turismo, Tekken 2, Rayman 2 : The Great Escape
Nintendo 64
---
LoZ : Ocarina of Time, LoZ : Majora's Mask, Mario Kart 64, Banjo Kazooie, Pokemon Stadium

Star Trek Elite Force, Star Trek Elite Force 2, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Quake III Arena, Call of Duty (The first one, of course.) Kinda funny how these are all based on the same engine. :#
I had a list of these to copy from, so that's why it was so easy for me! =P So, do you guys just have a top five or for all platforms?

Re: Your top five favorite video games?
Figured this was relevent :
Why the long fangs, there? =P If you were somehow worried about me saying anything, I retired my flamethrower yesterday; realized you guys aren't anything like the twelve year-olds I had to keep back with a wall of fire on the SRB2 boards 24/7. :#
I probably would have been interested in Sonic and the Black Knight if the attacks involved more than random flicks of the WiiMote, and I've never even seen Skylanders, so I don't know what there is to be critical of. Although I do prefer the visual charms of the older Spryo before Sony sold him out to Activision, both cute and edgy. :3 Probably just my nostalgia goggles kicking in though, I loved the first Spyro on the Playstation!

'Cuz I know there are people out there who dare to be stupid.
It's fine, dude; I'm not aiming at anyone here, just anyone who comes across this in general. Everyone has opinions, and if you can't respect them, well, tough.

Re: Your top five favorite video games?
My Top 5, huh?
Well, it's tough.
5. Super Mario World
4. Shantae & RR
3. Metal Gear Solid
2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
1. Final Fantasy VII
Yes, I know my top two games are the two most "overrated" games of all time, but I can't help but have such a strong love for these games, obvious choices or not.

Re: Your top five favorite video games?
I still enjoy playing OoT from time to time myself. It was made during a time when nobody had any obvious rules to go by when it came to 3D, and the devs behind OoT or SM64 definitely created a set of standards most 3D games still follow now. It's quite amazing for me to still explore Hyrule in that game knowing how many other directions the developers could have went in with Zelda. Its story might not be as deep as newer Zeldas like Twilight Princess or SS, but still very fun as a game on its own; it deserved a remake, I just wished it had happened so much sooner on the GameCube. ;_;
Still haven't played Final Fantasy VII, come to think of it. I hope copies of the original PSX game are still cheap, I'd rather not resort to the shady sector of the Internet just to play it, especially with the updated PC version being released online. Hope it comes to Steam soon.
Ah, okay. Just had to be sure. =P And while it's true there are haters, this community's still pretty small, you don't have too much to worry about. Besides, any 'hater who hates bad enough will be awarded with a shiny new "temp-banned" title if they do anyway. It's one thing to criticism a game if it's brough up, but thinking less of somebody for "poor taste" is another; I won't let the kind of nonsense that goes on in GameFAQs happen here!

Re: Your top five favorite video games?
You actually DON'T want to get FF7 emulated. Fairly buggy and bad SFX.
If you have a PSP or PS3 it plays quite well when downloaded off PSN. A physical copy should be no more than $50, I saw that price in an old video games store only a few weeks ago.

Re: Your top five favorite video games?
I don't have a PS3 yet, and I gave up on getting a PSP some time ago. I do have two PS1s and a PSX, though, then there a lucky few backups of my games that do work in emulators.
PSX emulators kinda suck anyway. They're absolutely flaky, and still don't read certain games right; most accurate emulator of any kind in existence my canned yams! I tried ripping a disc of the first Tomb Raider I bought recently, (Scored it for $3 with the case and everything, w00t!) but every rip I create through ImgBurn makes ePSXe freeze at certain points unless I run the disc itself, pure donkey balls! I might just have to install CloneCD for that, oh well.
FIFTY LKJSHANIGN DOLLARS?!?!?!?!?!
Last time I checked it was the second cheapest pre-owned game you could find. The game was such a huge success that they printed who knows how many millions of copies; those things were like a dime a dozen! I absolutely hate video game collectors spiking up prices like that, it's stupid and doesn't put a dime in the original developers' pockets, the greedy little two-bit ****s, and companies wonder why people pirate their older games. :/ I can understand if the game had a limited print run, but artificial scarcity is just low.
Sorry if that was a little loud. ;_; I really do despise greedy resellers though, like heck I'm going to pay $50 for a plastic coaster that may or may not work. Granted, every used game I've bought online works beautifully, but anything above $30 is too big of a risk to me.
Also, just looked it up on Amazon. There are used copies selling from $20.00, with the most expensive one being $30; not bad. I'm guessing the store you go to is behind on price averages? =P Good luck to them if they can sell it at that price!

Ah forgot to mention those were black labels, which are usually ever so slightly more expensive at least in person. I'm sure even in a store a Greatest Hits case would bring it down to $30 (greedy sellers for making a sheet of paper $20 I know, I know.) I mean, ****, there are ALOT of $30 used games that have been out for a long time (the first Fire Emblem Gamecube game has been out since, well, Gamecube and is $25.)

Re: Your top five favorite video games?
I don't think I understand what you mean by black labels. XD And it's a bit sad if Greatest Hits titles aren't getting any cheaper in the used market. ;_;
Demand will always drive up the price, but GC copies of Twilight Princess spiking up to $60 recently is just insane. It's like a bunch of peopled realized they bought the wrong version of the game and want to play it with a normal controller instead. =P (Not that there's anything wrong with the Wii version, but a lot of people prefer using a normal controller. Don't know why that couldn't have been an option in the Wii version; kinda silly it wasn't.)
