Favorite Arcade Games/Oldies
The topic about past videogames made me decide to start one about our favorites from the good ole days.
One of my favorites has to be Metal Slug. Every time I ever went to a place that had an arcade when I was younger, I checked for Metal Slug. Now after quite a few years, I saw the Metal Slug Anthology which has most of the titles in one game and got it. I still love the game.

Re: Favorite Arcade Games/Oldies
I never played actual Arcade games.
But yeah, the Metal Slug series is awesome.
Here are some of my Arcade-favs.
Super Street Fighter II
I actually like pretty much every game of the SFII series.
They all were great. And this is where Street Fighter was at its best, before Capcom decided to ruin it with their Supernatual Fantasy-Trash.
Super Street Fighter II is my favourite version, because it has the best design and NO GOUKI/AKUMA!
Perfect!
Final Fight
The mother of all Beat em Up games. A classic in every sense of the word.
Even though Streets of Rage is superior IMO, Final Fight will always be a fun game to play.
L.A. Machineguns
The gameplay is as simple as it can possibly get. Your machines actually move around by themselves.
All you have to do is shoot every enemy in sight. Simple and yet LOTS OF FUN!
Might post more later.

Re: Favorite Arcade Games/Oldies
Always wanted to play the arcade version of Super Street Fighter II, but I'm still pretty happy with the SNES port, even if it is watered down, it's still pretty solid. =P Never even heard of L.AMachineguns before, though, that one's new to me!
Sadly, the only arcade game I've ever had a chance of trying was Tekken 2 at a skating rink, besides the Playstation port I had. (Jun and Law were my favorite characters! Thankfully both arcade/home versions were practically identical; I didn't notice any difference visually.) Still one of my favorite fighting games. :D
There was an XMen "beat 'em up" I played too with a bunch of random kids (Was ten years old at the time.) at the same place, but I can't remember the name of the game at all. D:

Was it the six-player Konami brawler? It was just called "X-Men"..Luke wrote:There was an XMen "beat 'em up" I played too with a bunch of random kids (Was ten years old at the time.) at the same place, but I can't remember the name of the game at all. D:

It's either that or "X-Men: Children of the Atom".Maetch wrote:Was it the six-player Konami brawler? It was just called "X-Men".
Then again it's a Capcom-fighter. But still, worth checking out.

That definitely has to be it with the six-player mode! My memory's really blurred, but screenshots are starting to ring a bell. It can't be "Children of the Atom", since that's a much deeper, two-player fighting game, from looking at the video Paragon posted.
