Shantae on Steam

After finding out about Steam Greenlight, the service for users to submit games to be voted on by others to be made available for sale through Steam's digital distribution service, I kinda figured it'd only be a matter of time before WayForward anted up as well.

Risky's Revenge is currently up on Greenlight. With enough votes, she'll be playable on PC.
...like genies say, third time's a charm eh?

Except you need an account with actual game purchases on it for the vote to go through, demo trialers on Steam don't get many privileges. =P Besides, it's a highly acclaimed portable game as it is, the chances of it going green are pretty high with the over 200+ comments about it on Steam. ^_^

Also, moved the topic to Shantae News. I actually posted about it over there a moment ago, until I noticed this here. #_# So into the trash that post went! EDIT : Dunno why the shadow topic didn't go through, darn it.

I was wondering about it's chances myself, since last I checked the progress bar was still at 1% despite the 230+ comments. Unless it's just not exactly updated in real-time

I voted yes for sure as a day one purchase and have definitely been spreading the word around on my local forum hangouts.

I saw this over at the steam page. Not a bad image to use when promoting this link for more "Yes" Votes. After all Pictures are worth 1000 words and all that Jazz. : )

I got a good laugh out of those Nai, the zombie leg especially! The Medic's like, "WTF?!". XD Did you draw over those screenshots yourself?

According to WayForward's twitter the greenlight stats are slowly starting to kick up! Let's hope we get a PC release of RR sometime soon, keep those votes and comments coming, fellow fans. :'D

Risky's Revenge is in the Top 100 right now! Let's hope this gets greenlit in the next batch of submissions, this is amazing; it's been a long time coming.

Also, thanks to a gift from a friend on Steam, I no longer have a limited user account, so I finally got to upvote it myself, as well as Freedom Planet. Will comment on them as soon as I can. =P I feel like I have to after somebody in the comments suggested it looked like a bad Genesis game.

Some people just have no taste; they don't know what they're missing.

If it is on steam it would need achievements.
But what achievements?
Anyway, I just lawled a ton seeing that Engine image.

Obviously the best ending pic would be an achievement. Clearing Battle Tower with no magic/items or under a certain time. Kill Wobble Bell (if secret achievements are possible). Clear the game with no heart holders. I don't know if the Steam achievements work like this but that's some of the things I can think of.

Hey guys, guess what? Steam recently greenlit everything that was in the top 100 Greenlight games, so not only did Freedom Planet benefit from that, but the PC port of Shantae : Risky's Revenge does too!

Ah, finally! Between Shantae being greenlit on Steam and making a showing at this year's PAX, I'd say this looks to be a great year for our genie girl. Huzzah and kudos, Shantae! I may just have to do a happy dance

And we can't forget Shantae coming to the 3DS's Virtual Console too! Things are definitely looking up for everybody's favorite hair-whipping genie.

Also, seems like nobody's going to post a date for the PC port yet. I guess that will depend on when they work on it, and trading cards would be a nice touch too, so I second that thought, Nai.

I plan to check in with Shane @ WF soon to inquire if anything new regarding RR's future release on Steam can go public. Never hurts t' have contacts on the inside. ;D Just gotta ensure that I don't inquire cloyingly, I suppose. XD I'll report back if he can state anything - and, hey, I'd post the info at the Shantae Steam group as well, in order to maximize dissemination there.

I am sure they would post news, either on Twitter or some other site, if they had any to share. Although it would be nice to know if a programmer has been tasked with the port yet, I think that was the key issue with providing an estimate on a release date. Half-Genie Hero and its kickstarter has kept a lot of people at WayForward pretty busy lately.

Yeah, pretty much, they had been savin' up the recent KS salvo, although it is true that they don't *always* post news immediately due to conflicting tasks. X3 Anyhow~! Q2 2014 feels so far away. ;0; -sobbu like a true otaku, even though I'm not one-

Among other things, I'm planning to set up a small contest/giveaway for RR once it hits Steam. Might even only be for just one copy since I'm rather poor these days. But hey! At least there'd be a chance, eh? However small. XD

Today is the day! I'm spamming the refresh button on the steam store. Tekaramity says that it may be midnight, it may be 10 AM. If there's no news in the next ~30 minutes or so I'm going to go to bed and try again at 10:00.
